2023 Colors of the Year
The major paint companies have made their predictions – and they are bright and bold for 2023. Each features shades of red and are a far cry from last year’s calming sage greens that brought much needed calm to our pandemic-weary soles and worked to bring the feeling of nature indoors. This year, the paint companies seemed to think we’re in need of a splash of color, an energizing palate for which to break out of our nesting state.
Let’s start with Pantone’s Color of the Year – Viva Magenta. Bold? We’d say! This color is being described by the company as a “crimson red tone that presents a balance between warm and cool.” How to use it? Try a pop of color in pillows, candles, within a patterned fabric print, or in your wardrobe to be on trend in 2023.
Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year is Rasberry Blush. The company calls it “a vivacious shade of coral tinged with pink,” and says, “Rasberry Blush enlivens the senses with electric optimism.” This more muted shade of red can make for a warm and energizing accent wall, or delicious color to envelope the walls of a dining room.

Last but not least is Sherwin Williams. Their Color of the Year is Rendend Point. It is a beautiful, sandy red hue reminiscent of the red rocks of the deserts of the Southwest. The company’s site encourages us to “embrace a spirit of connection with the world around us with this soulful-yet-subtle hue.”
While certainly not as bold as Benjamin Moore or Pantone’s color choices – this one walks the line between neutral and color rich. We love it for its versatility and ability to be all things, from a pop of color on cabinetry to adorning all four walls of a bath. It can bring both calm and add depth to a space. Need a new look for your bath? Bring the spa-like feel of the Sedona home with this on-trend tone.
