These products have long been used in the hotel and cruise industries. MirrorMate has quality-tested all of our frames and stands by their performance subject to the frames’ being cared for specifically as described below. Please use the same care as you would for a piece of fine furniture:
Please note that any frame – whether wood, plastic or MDF – will be damaged by incorrect cleaning methods.
IMPORTANT: Green Commitment
I can proudly say that MirrorMate is trying as hard as it can to be green. Our Operations Manager, Dustin Styer, makes sure we re-use many of the boxes in which our stock is shipped to us. We recycle all our office paper, all the unused pieces of cardboard boxes, and even pay a pallet recycler to pick up pallets from us when we can't re-use the pieces to make new ones. We bring home the plastic bottles and cans to be recycled since the city does not pick these up from businesses - yet. Our moulding suppliers make big efforts to be environmentally-friendly too. Our supplier of wood-based styles works hard to replace trees as they use them and has planted over 300,000 trees worldwide. Three other of our suppliers produce medium-density fiberboard (MDF)-based products for us here in the United States, all of which contain some recycled content. Two of these suppliers are within 500 miles of MirrorMate's headquarters. All of the MDF from our suppliers meet Phase II emission standards set forth by the California Air Resources Board (CCR 93120.2(a)). As of January 2011, these requirements mandate that MDF have a concentration no greater than .11 parts per million of formaldehyde. As of January 2012, the requirements mandate that formaldehyde be eliminated from all MDF.

Long before "Green" was the watchword of caring for the environment, I started composting my kitchen scraps, greatly reducing the amount of garbage going from my house to the landfill. Every cereal or tissue box, as well as newspaper, is recycled at home. Same with anything plastic. It took me six months to remember to bring my own bags to the grocery store each time, but now I am in the habit! My car is a Toyota Camry Hybrid. Yup, I'm a "tree hugger" and mightily concerned about the state of the environment and what I can do to reduce my impact.
The term “MDF” stands for medium density fiberboard. This is a composite wood product, made from wood pieces, particles or fibers bonded together with a resin. This is a strong and stable product, used to make furniture, cabinets, shelving as well as moulding. Some of the wood used in MDF comes from wood dust when wood products are made, or small trees that need to be thinned from forests grown for large tree logging, and so does not require virgin wood for its production.
